Music review of “See The Queue”
CDQ’s new project, See The Queue is among a couple of EPs and single rolled out recently.
It is commendable that a smart naming was done for this project. The word play on the name is indeed luring. It could make one anxious to receive the message he has on the playlist.
The rapper made a house hold name since 2013. His popular songs include Masterkraft’s Indomie, and “Nowo E Soke” featuring Wizkid. Generally, the EP had great production and engineering done. Also the artiste put forth some fight in delivery on his songs. If you like some rap and Street hop content about hustle, money and carnal experiences; “see the queue” is yours to enjoy.
Track 1 is “Could Have Been Worse” is a pure hip-hop/rap track produced by Masterkraft.
The realness in the story and vibe on this CDQ song was evident. A generally relatable hook makes the song one to look out for. The track would at the least give a feel some of the rappers pain, briskly paint his climb in the industry and views. While offering a head-nodding beat.
Track 2,“Total “ features successful veteran singer Timaya. The idea of the song is appealing from the latter’s hook. Timaya and CDQ however did not show the seamless blend a collaboration should. Total seemed to be a low pass at both artistes bragging about wealth. With a sprinkle of seeking help from God to “shower blessings”. This song for one while offering a “vibe” to chill to felt half empty or lyrically unfinished. Timaya gave a catchy hook that he’s known to give ;Perhaps the way the artistes intended.

Track 3 dubbed “Moyan” is sung on a beat made by Jay Pizzle. The production was no short of properly done. The song was not fascinating.
The rapper glided on the glory of Akon’s famous hook into song 4. It however felt half baked and didn’t flow seamlessly. From the familiar melodies, to “won le ya wa” to “nobody wants to see us together”, the song contends for least favorite. Finally track 5, Omolomo, ends it
Favorite songs: Could have been worse and Omolomo.
